    AP2 P and W (46* an 50* respectively) with the W replacing an SM2 50.14, plus 54* and 60*. I like the partial wedge gapping between the 54 and 60 as I have a 50 and a 40 yard carry!
  2. I just purchased new Vokey wedges this year. Previously I played 52, 56, 60, but I decided to change things as I was not real comfortable with them. I purchased 50, 54, 58, and my short game has notably improved.
  3. Grant,

I have 716 AP1s so my PW is at 43*. From there I go with Vokeys at 47*, 51* and 56*. The 47 and 51 have been adjusted from 46 and 52 in order to keep a 4*-5* spread in the lofts. I don't use anything higher in loft because I sometimes tend to flip my hands and slide the club underneath the ball and it goes nowhere, but the 56 gives me enough height for my game. Fairways and greens.

I have used 50/54/58 for awhile now and it seems to make my yardage gaps really consistent and allows me to carry an extra hybrid. I use 50 Gap wedge PXG, and 54 Vokey SM6 F grind, 58 Vokey Oil Can low bounce K grind. Need to keep practicing to hit them all closer to the hole!
  5. I would like to ask a question. My home club switched from sand in the bunkers to, crushed limestone. They claim it's cheaper. I am an old curmudgeon, I don't like change, I am a purest, I like sand. I am having trouble hitting out of this junk, any body else experience this? How do you get out of it.

I was fortunate enough to be fitted at the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, CA 3 years ago and my wedge set up consists of 50, 55 (56 bent to 55) and 60. I went from 2 wedges to 3 while having the 3 iron taken out of my setup.

    Ap2 stock pitching wedge, 50° SM6 vokey, 54° SM6 vokey and i alienate between a 58° vokey and a 60° SM6 vokey.
  11. 46/50/54/58. I find that once I lay the face of the 58 open for bunker and flop shots, it performs just as well as a 60 (a little more spin it seems, actually, and geometrically speaking, once you open the 2 lofts that far, the degree difference is negligible). Plus, a 46 degree pitching wedge just works with my AP2 loft spread so everything else just falls into line.

That being said, use what you're comfortable with!

Here's a curve. I feel the Vokey 50 goes a little shorter in distance than the matching AP2 50 at 51 degrees. So I use that and like the profile better. Then use the Vokey 56 and 58.
Don't use the 60 because I feel the ball is not captured consistently on the face with a higher loft resulting in variance in trajectory and distance. There is a noticeable improved control on pitch shots going with a 58.
Cannot fathom how Mickelson can get his results with a 64 degree wedge! Jordan Speith and Phil have too much talent!

I bend all my wedges 1 degree weak to add some more bounce. I carry 47/51/55/59. The 46/47 is a prototype, the 50/51 is a R grind, 54/55 is an F grind and the 58/59 is an M grind.
  15. When are the new Vockey's coming out?

    46/52/60 Vokeys
  18. 48/52/56/60. Only reason for a 48 is because my AP3 PW is 43 degree so I wanted the right gapping for my distances.

    I play a 48.08 (PW) F Grind SM6, 52.08 (Gap) F Grind SM5, 56.10 (Sand) M Grind SM5, and a 60.08 (Lob) M Grind SM6 all in tour chrome. Switched from Cleveland 2 years ago and haven't looked back.
