You're getting some great advice. I prefer to use the V1X when it's soft which is usually the case in northeast Ohio and the V1 if the ground and/or greens are hard. Don't discount trying the NXT series as well. Great ball for the money especially for double digit handicappers. I'm low single digit but still use it at times.

I have a similar handicap and I use the Pro V1x ball. I average longer off the tee but, that is not why I use the Pro V1x ball. I use it because it gives me the best performance from 120 yards and in. I have tested both and like the stopping power of the Pro V1x on approach shots. I suggest buying a sleeve of both balls and take them out and do your own testing. Good luck, you can't go wrong with either choice.

Hi Nate,
I used to play with the Pro V1 until Titleist came to our club and carried out a ball fitting session. Now I play with the Pro V1x. Basically the Pro V1 had just a little too much spin off the face for my swing which was reflected in my game with the number of fairways missed off the tee. For me the Pro V1x flies a little straighter off the driver (less spin). I do hit more fairways now. I get around 240 off the tee so I am not a big hitter and I have to admit I have not noticed a sudden increase in the distance I am achieving. I suspect you would if you were hitting around the 300 mark. I have not noticed any difference with my short game. If the ball does not skip, skip, stop on the green it is probably down to me rather than the ball. My recommendation as with others, get to a ball fitting session if you can. If you cannot I would try the Pro V1x for half a dozen games and see if you can tell any difference.

Nate, I like Charlie Sierra's advice. Find a fitting center with a club-head speed, ball speed and launch monitor.. Here's why. I'm a six handicap, 70 years old and hit my drives around 225 to 230 yards. Basically, my club-head speed is about 95 mph and, even according to Titleist specs, I should be using the Pro V1, not the Pro V1x. I liked the Pro V1x and used it until two years ago when Titleist slightly modified the two balls. I now play the Pro V1. Yes, it does spin more. But a drive is also about compression of the ball. If the Pro V1x is for a club-head speed of 105+ and you swing about 90-100, you're not going to compress it and you won't get the distance you need or want. Go with Charlie's advice and find an advanced fitting center. Try as many balls as you can and find the one that gives you the best performance of the tee while not sacrificing control with mid to short irons and wedges. I'm not sure where you play, but as it gets colder, you may even look to a much softer ball like the So-Low or comparable.

Hi there, I recently received a sleeve of Pro v1X balls. After two rounds my take is less spin and longer. The feel is terrific and less spun didn't negate around the green stopping power. It seemed like the spin around the green was still very good but less spin on approach shots. My handicap is 6.1, hope this helps ands thanks for the opportunity to test your new product.

I am a 10 handicaper as well, I hit the ball about 280+ off the tee though. I create a lot of swing speed, so I have noticed that the Pro V1 cover tends to tear up on me a bit on wedge shots and short irons. I like the Pro V1x; the spin that is created is not too much of a difference, and the ball also travels about 5 yards further than the Pro V. I would only suggest Pro Vs to people with great short game and can control a one-hop-stop sort of chip- which is not in my game haha. Hope this helps.

I like the pro v1x because it seems to have less spin than the v1
