The last two years we have gone to pinehurst and played the courses there as well as Tobacco Road and pine needles. We are looking to book our next golf trip. The obvious ones are bandon, paynes valley and of course back to pinehurst. We aren’t trying to be cheap but coming from the east coast in PA bandon dunes would end up being a 5k+ trip for us with flights etc. looking for any and all recommendations on places to go and whatnot…as well as bandon books like two years out now lol

I have done Bandon in November the last 10 years. Rates are a little lower that time of year but the weather is still pretty good. If it rains its usually pretty light and/or passes through quickly. Sometimes its in the 40s in the mornings but warms up to 50s at least or warmer. The amazing things you have heard about the courses there and the overall resort experience are 100% accurate. You will love it. Crazy that you have to book so far out now. The second par 3 course is the last course that will be built there so looks like it will be booked solid from now on.

Check the rates in the off-seasons and you can get good rates. That gets you out of the cold PA weather.
December through Feb in Pinehurst is pretty inexpensive. The risk is frost delays in the morning (they don't delay the tee sheet at the resort) and it seems to rain more that time of year. I now live in Pinehurst and we can golf year round here.

Las Vegas and Palm Springs are good options with a lot of courses. You can do a resort or Airbnb there and have access to a lot of good courses. Just watch the overseeding/aearation schedules if you go in October/November.

Scottsdale, AZ is perfect. Tons of options for places to stay and all kinds of great restaurants. The golf is unreal. We played both Troon courses, We-Ko-Pa and TPC. Pass on TPC and play Grayhawk or one of the other ridiculous courses. It's a fantastic spot and you can make it a trip that doesn't break the bank. I've been to Pinehurst several times and love it, but I would go back to Scottsdale before Pinehurst.

Depending on the time of year, Kiawah Island, Streamsong or you can always go RTJ Golf Trail
