I will be heading to Jamaica for the first time and was wondering if any TT guys or gals have played on the island. If so where did you play and what was your experience?

I'm going to be staying in Negril and was looking at Negril Hills or The Tryall Club.

I just visited in May sorry for late response but I stayed at Jewel Grand with my wife, son and his wife in MONTEGO BAY. It was FANTASTIC CINNAMON HILL GOLF CLUB was outstanding right along ocean and back nine plays back up into the hills! I now Negril is a was away but a road trip would be worth it.

thanks for the reply Craig, glad to know you had a great time playing at Cinnamon Hill.

I ended up playing at Negril Hills and decided to walk and play nine as my significant other joined me for the nice stroll. Its not a resort styled manicured course but the views were awesome.

only bad thing I can think of was that the greens were under repair but they let me know ahead of time and gave me a 25% discount on the green fees.

I hit it off with my caddie as I too was a former caddie, he provide a wealth of knowledge about the course as well as Jamaican history.

I foresee many trips back to the island as I enjoyed myself during my stay on the island.

I went to Swept Away in Negril on my honeymoon in 1999.

I played Negril Hills, and at the time, it was a glorified goat track.

Hopefully someone can chime in with a more recent review.

Jim if the greens were not under repair it would have actually been a great round.

Tryall Club is incredible. We stayed at one of the villas and was pampered from the minute we arrived. The course was in great shape and played a fair par 72. Be sure to grab a beverage at the half way house. You won't be disappointed.

The White Witch was easily the best and toughest course on the island (IMO).. Visually stunning!

Tryal on the way to Negril is outstanding. They used to play the Tour event Johnny Walker there. Half moon club was beautiful and in great condition

I appreciate your reply here. It looks like Jamaica is a good ground for playing. Thanks for posting.
