  1. Next summer, my wife and I are traveling to Scotland for several weeks and will be staying in Inverness, St. Andrews and Edinburgh.

While we have the hotels and golf all arranged, I am looking for any recommendations about other activities or restaurant suggestions while we are there.

    Thanks for any help.

I do not think you will have a problem finding things to do there. The town of St Andrews is adventure according to a friend and pro who goes their every year. He always gets a rental and just enjoys the beauty of the country. I am sure some on here will add their favorite sites, spots to eat and some local pubs to visit. Have fun and fairways and greens. Unfortunately, I can no longer walk the links, so Scotland and Ireland are off the buck list. Played Ireland years ago. If I go back it will be as a tourist, on a guided tour, which is not such a bad idea. So much to see. =)

The Infamous House of bruar on A9 wether your travelling north or south easy access to shop also a restaurant breaks up the road trip

Another option is come down the “whiskey trail” from Elgin to aviemore over 20 distilleries on that stretch of road (stunning scenery) for a nice souvenir bottle then stop in at aviemore to the hungry haggis chip shop.

Theres plenty of things depends how long your stay is and what you want to cram in

Pitlochry golf course is just of A9 that’s nice parkland course too -

Sure others will help out and add to your itinerary

Slanje va enjoy your stay in bonnie Scotland
  4. Make sure to visit Dunvegans ask for Lindsay great food
  5. The whisky distilleries around Inverness are pretty good. Glen Morangie is in between inverness and Dornoch, as is Dalmore and Balblair. Also, whilst in Inverness you can do boat tours along the Moray Firth to spot dolphins and Seals. we went with a company called dolphin Spirit Inverness.
  6. There tons of things to do. The Battlefield at Culloden is neat especially if you are a fan of the Highlander tv show. Distilleries, plenty of castles and history to choose from.

There are walking tours in Old Town Edinburgh that are done very well.
  8. Kingsbarns distillery tour is short and sweet and you get to taste some of their amazing whiskey.

Just outside St Andrews is Balgove Larder which is an old barn turned into a GREAT place for a steak.

In St Andrews check out BrewDog. Really good microbrew beers and amazing bar food. The Cluck Norris is my personal favorite!

    Have fun!!
