  1. Hi all!

As soon as the coronavirus will be washed away, I am planning on taking a golf trip to the UK, where I have some family to visit.

A friend of mine said that I should better cover my liability and my stuff in case anything happens on the course... What do you guys think? Is it really necessary?

I've came across some providers comparators, including one called HelloSafe (for those interested: hello-safe.co.uk/golf-insurance). Do anybody know a reliable provider that I should pick up?

Well, any guidance or tip will be highly appreciated.

Good luck to all with the pandemic, take care!

You could fall over backwards into a bunker and end up in a hospital. Or have a head-on driving on the right side of the road, or going counter-clockwise in a rotary. You need to work with your health insurance carrier to see what would be covered outside of the US and if they recommend a 3rd party coverage. Even if you went to Cabot Links in Canada. It will be well into 2022 before COVID is in the background with minimal risk. Vaccinations will almost certainly be required every 6 months and doing the math on just a billion people outside of India and China, herd immunity will take that long. The airlines and travel agencies offer trip cancellation packages and you will likely need to consider those as well.

Mixed feelings. We bought travel insurance for a family vacation to Maui this year to cover a VRBO condo rental. Got it a year ago, before COVID. Trip was cancelled due to Hawaii 14-day quarantine so we submitted a claim for the condo rental. The insurance denied it as a "covered condition". I could have probably fought it and eventually won but the condo owners let us reschedule for next year at no additional cost. I felt like the lady in "The Rainmaker".... "again denied, you must be stupid, stupid, stupid." I will still get insurance on expensive trips in the future, especially if they don't have refund policies in place.

For on course liability (hitting another player with a ball, breaking a window, etc.) most courses include a 1 pound fee in the green fee to cover that. I know when I play a number of courses in Scotland all I get charged for is the 1 pound insurance fee.

As far as club damage and loss, it is probably covered under your homeowners policy. It couldn't hurt to ask your agent. They may offer a club specific binder for your trip.

Getting hurt can be a bit different. I know in Scotland I have been to the E&R and they didn't ask for any payment or insurance. Again, travel health insurance is something to look into.

    Enjoy the trip!
