From Lahinch to Connemara, there are multiple links and parkland courses by searching Galway golf courses in Google. Depending on how much time you have and how far you can travel to get to a course, you can read the reviews. You can also find the course designers. For example, Lahinch was designed by Old Tom McDonald and Alister MacKenzie. I considered Lahinch and Connemara links courses but ended up on courses in County Mayo and north. I was not disappointed in any of the 3 I played.

The only course I am familiar with in the area is Lahinch. Please check the green fees as they have gone up significantly due to the Americans. It is however a course worth playing!! Terrific!!. Blind par 3 (The Dell) and an blind par 4. Also for sight seeing, above all else check out the Cliffs of Mohr.....unbelievable. Above all....have fun and enjoy Ireland.

Have you checked out this site on the internet? Looks interesting. Maybe you can find the "Galway Girl". Ireland puts together some good information of the local courses and attractions.

We did a tour of the Ring of Kerry thru a tour who was based in NY but was very Irish. They did an awesome job. Played five different courses in the area and stayed at a local B&B. Dingle Bay, Dooks, Waterville, Killarney Golf and Fish, and Ballybunion. Lots of extracurricular activities after golf and great Irish breakfasts everyday. The Guinness beer is much better there on tap.

I agree Chuck.....the Guiness beer is much better on tap. Those are some very good courses you played.....especially Ballybunion! Ring of Kerry....one of the prettiest parts of Ireland

and ten times as good in Ireland........it does not taste the same in the US! A couple of the Irish pints will definitely make you sleep better for your next days round of golf.......I grew rather fond of the bangers at breakfast....the people of Ireland are very friendly.....our tour guide owned the tour company and was from that area and he took us to some of the off beaten places which made for an interesting visit.....Dingle Bay is a must play, a rather interesting story regarding a dolphin in the little town there......greatest golf trip of my life....picked up the language quickly.... =) =)

Get a copy of "A Course Called Ireland", by Tom Coyne. It's a great read and a good road map to courses in the area you're visiting.
