  1. Hey just think it would be cool to see what you guys are interested in.

I'm learning to play guitar as I've always wanted to rock out like evh.

What do you guys enjoy doing that isn't golf related.

Don't worry I realise most of us on here are golf obsessed lol.

  2. Sorry Alex, I'm retired - Only have time for one hobby!!
Can't think what I did when I had to fit in work as well!!!!

That's a good question Alex. Before I got serious with golf, I did some surfing. Me and my bro lived at my parents beach house for a few years and we had a blast. We get home from work or on weekends and just go out if there were waves. I wasn't very good but just enjoyed being in the ocean with my brother and friends. In New England we have good waves in the winter and I'm not that nut so just mostly in the summer. We had a long board and that's what I rode most of the time. Catching a wave is probably one of the most gratified feeling you can have. Maybe, just maybe it's right up there with getting a hole in one :)

I haven't gone surfing in ages and would love to get back into it. Playing golf in the morning and then catching waves in the afternoon sounds like a perfect day..

Other then that just work and hanging with my kids.

I play guitar, with my interest mostly in acoustics. I own an ridiculous number of guitars and I guess that has led to it being sort of a hobby to participate in the various brand forums.

I also have a little Bichon Frise I'm infatuated with. He's just totally goofy and that's led me to participate in get togethers with other owners and in Bichon forums too.

  13. I love to downhill ski in the winter. I also really enjoy bass fishing. I actually gave up golf for awhile to really concentrate on fishing. But the weekends away didn't sit well with the wife. So, dropped the fishing and did weekend getaways with the wife.... golfing!!

I grew up hunting, fishing and camping. Golf was not a big deal for our family, as we couldn't afford it. I'd play a couple times each summer when I had a job and could pay my own way, then took it up more seriously when my kids were growing.

We have long winters in Wisconsin. Golf season is about 6 months, and often two of them are iffy for playing weather. In December the lakes freeze and we start ice fishing, ending in March. A Caribbean vacation for beach and scuba helps get through the winter. April turkey season opens, followed by the walleye season the first Saturday in May.

Golf courses normally open up sometime in April. This year we opened a week ago and our league started play this past Wednesday. Tomorrow I'll put in my pier, launch the boat, go play 18 and fish walleyes in the evening. A lot of the summer goes like that.

Mid-September the bird season opens and gun deer hunting the week of Thanksgiving. In the fall I may hunt in the morning and play golf in the afternoon, weather permitting. In December the cycle starts all over again.

Since my wife doesn't hunt or fish, I'm grateful she took up golf for me so we could have something to do together. She's a trooper. Almost quit, but stuck with it. This past summer we took a trip to Scotland and the Home of Golf. A fantastic trip and a hobby I thought she'd never stick with!

My main other hobby these days is watching my sons play HS baseball as my coaching days are over. Beyond the baseball field, I love to walk/play with our dog (Border Terrier) and read a lot of non-fiction, currently fascinated by US/USSR spy stories.

When I'm not at work or deployed with the military and not on the course with my son, we are a bit obsessed with Lego's. My son says he wants to be an architect so he is constantly coming up with his own designs. I just enjoy the family time when I can get it!

I enjoy building pcs, and constantly tinker with my own. I haven't built a new system from scratch since my own last year, but every once in a while will get to put something together for someone.
