I finally made the jump and was fitted for a putter. After all was said and done all things pointed to the GOLO 6 at 34.5" . After all these years, I finally discovered that I am a "straight back- straight through" putter. This simple switch saves at least 5 putts a round. Hats off to being fitted. EVEN FOR A PUTTER. If I had only done this sooner...President's Cup here I come ... LOL

Nice. I got fitted for a putter this past February, and up until that point, I had been using a mallet (a Phantom X 5.5). The data suggested that I'd be better off with a blade, and he recommended a Newport 2 at 35". Since then, I have been putting great, probably averaging 1.8 putts per hole over the last 2-3 months.

I did the exact same thing Summer of '23 when I was down in Sea Island. Best "investment" I made. the squareback putter was hurting my putting game. So glad I jumped I on the GoLo6 Wont' be switching from that any time soon!

  5. Putter is the only club I haven’t been fitted for. Sounds like I might need to get that done if it’s helping everyone else’s scores.

After reading this thread, I'm starting to feel the same way. I am currently using a GOLO 6 and 6.2 and play them really well. Still might be worth while.

Make the jump and get fitted. Best move I made!

I’ve done a few putter fittings over the years and they are genuinely helpful. If even to validate the knowledge you have.
One aspect that frustrates me though is that most places will assess you via a SAM system or similar, tell you what could be improved, let you try a few new putters/setups but they never retest the new putter using the same system to let you see that your new wand is materially better. Is it just about the sale?
