Since we’ve moved to California, I’ve played over 450 rounds of golf. And one of my biggest fears was to make a hole-in-one while playing by myself and have no one believe me. So I started filming almost every par 3 I play just in case. I even coined it the hole-in-one cam. I’ve captured some amazing shots of me and my friends over the years, but never the ace.
Until today!
We stepped up to the 12th hole at Wild Hawk golf course which is a par 3 measuring 180 yards to the flag. My buddy Thomas (who I’ve known for over 30 years) pulled 7 iron and hit it a bit long. Knowing he hits his irons farther than me, I decided to pull a 6 and planned to take a little off with a cut shot. I lined up, brought the club back and swung. Right off the face I knew I hit it flush and on the exact line I was going for. Then we watched it land, bounce twice, hit the flag and drop out of sight.
Finally, and oh what a feeling.
