It was a nice day in Cochrane, Alberta with 4 friends celebrating a 40th birthday. The group was starting to settle in after two holes and a front pin, bunker protected par 3 was to come. We had a slight breeze at the back and 154 to the pin. 9 iron was selected and struck with the only thought being I hope it clears the bunker lip. Bounce 1 fringe, bounce 2 is now tracking, rolling, rolling, and disappear. First words are an apology to the birthday boy as clubs fly in the air and the neighboring back yard patrons cheer.
