It was the #3 hole at Mill Creek Golf Course, the North, in Youngstown Ohio playing 160yds. I was unable to see the cup because there was a mound in front of the hole, which played slightly uphill. My 3 playing partners had already hit up to the green with one of them stiffing it within 4ft. Of course I thought "Not going to be getting the greenie on this hole!" So I pulled my Titleist T300 8 iron just wanting to make a nice smooth swing to get it close enough to have chance to match my playing partners birdie. I hit up to the green with a slight fade heading right towards the hole. I was able to see it bounce but then it disappeared. I figured it had taken a hard bounce and I had flown the green. As i was walking back to my cart, my 2 other playing partners had informed me that they thought it was "in". Of course that idea never crossed my mind because I had never had a hole in one. As I was driving up to the green, which sat higher than the cart path, I noticed only one ball on the green, my playing partners 4 footer! I got out of the cart, grabbed my 58 degree and my putter. I figured I was going to have to chip it back on and hopefully 1-putt for my par. As I approached the hole I wasn't even thinking of looking in the hole...BOOM...Titleist Pro V1x 2 looking right up at me! My very first hole in 1!!!
