Playing the Heron and Egret nines at Carolina National, I hit a high 7-iron into wind on the Heron 8th hole. The ball landed on a ridge on the middle of the green and headed left down the ridge towards the flag stick. We could see ball as it rolled to the hole and disappeared from view. A friend and I had just remarked that we were zero for life on hole in ones. He got one Monday and I followed up on Wednesday.
