Playing Eastlake in San Diego ca (now known as enagic) The tour does a qualifier for the open there from time to time. We were having our monthly club tournament for our club called the lumberjacks. It was actually our Players championship tourney. I had a great start with a birdie on hole #1 i was tied for 1st until magic happened on hole #7 we were playing from the blue tee, I scoped 151 with a little wind in the face I pulled 8 iron and hit a cut into the left side of the green, my pro V1 hit left side and got a nice kick that rolled the ball toward the center and at the pin we all quietly watched as my ball disappeared!! I was in disbelief!! I’ve been close so many times but one finally fell and I took the solo lead in the tourney. Fast forward to the final hole I was down 2 and hit the pin with an eagle chip from 40 yards to almost force a playoff. I did secure 2nd and had the whole lumberjack crew waiting for me at the 19th for drinks. What an electric day!!
