I’m 74 and was paired up with a few 30 somethings. The youngsters were pretty much really long with nice looking swings. On hole eight I mentioned to them that with the pin placement in the back left if you hit to the far right side of the green the ball would roll to the pin if you had enough carry. I had a 6 iron in my hand for the 168 yard shot but at the last second I decided to go up a club due to the cool February breeze. I hit the 5 iron a couple of paces back from the tee marker and as the ball approached the green I said “right there.” The ball landed on the upslope but managed to make it to the upper level and rolled across the slope about 30 feet right into the hole. The youngsters were pretty excited, one stating he had never seen a hole in one. Another said you called your shot and damn if you didn’t make it. This was my third hole in one. All with Titleist Pro V1’s.
