November 6, 2023. I asked my son to play with me for my final round of the season. We were playing number 11 at Mark Twain GC which is a Donald Ross course and considered one of the toughest par 3’s in the area. A breezy and chilly 49 degree day using a 6 iron up hill to a lower two tier green with the pin at 158. I’ve played it many times over 40 years and today was the day. Pure strike and flight onto green and out of sight then reappeared briefly as it slightly rolled up the the bank then rolled back disappearing again. We approached the green and saw only one ball as we both hit on. I ran up and saw it was my Titleist Pro V1 in the cup!!
I celebrated with my son and then pointed to the sky as my dad that started me playing golf passed a month ago and I know he was watching!
