Foot Joy sells waterproof rain gear. There are other brands, as well, but at that level of quality (Gore-Tex or other synthetic fiber) with seams that are self-sealing are also in that price range. Rain gear designed for golf will allow the range of motion in a golf swing. Also make sure it fits comfortably with your usual dry layer(s). From personal experience, pants that aren't long enough to cover ankles will just turn Dry-Joys into personal swimming pools.

Their are a couple of excellent brands of rain gear that can more that meet your expectations. FootJoy makes three levels of rain gear. DryJoy Select, DryJoy TourXP and HydroLite. All three are 100% waterproof and allow you the freedom to swing. I play in the TourXP and HydroLite when the weather dictates it. Another excellent brand is Zero Restriction (ZR) which is Gore-Tex and their travel suit is top of the line and is rather expensive. I have one of those also and have had it for a number of years. It too allows you plenty of room for playing in adverse conditions. Both make excellent rain suits and if you are going to invest in a good garment, I would not purchase any other brand other than these two. They provide maximum protection. The pictures are FootJoy outerwear.

    yep

FootJoy is your answer.....some very knowledgeable people over at the FJ forum...like really informed support folks.

They will get you set up with what you need - and their customer support is second to none in the athletic clothing business.

disclosure - I am nearly 100% FJ when it comes to my golf apparel.

I would strongly recommend the FootJoy rain gear. I have several jackets and pants and they have always worked like a champ. Have used them for everything from quick rain showers in my home state of Texas to week long vacations to Ireland where it poured rain the entire time. I have found the FootJoy motto of "Make Everyday Playable" to really hold true when it comes to their rainwear.

Foot Joy rain gear is the best. Comfortable and allows freedom of movement. But alas, expensive.

Go to http://www.footjoy.com/ and click on their apparel section. Great looking outerwear. 100% waterproof and cost effective. Played in a golf tournament this weekend and FJ outerwear was the apparel of choice.

You can't go wrong with anything in the FootJoy line. I have been using it for over 20 years in all types of weather. I play a LOT of golf in Scotland and FJ is the only rain gear for me!

Footjoy is the way to go. Be careful though. Buy water PROOF rain gear, not water RESISTANT gear. There is a difference. Some manufacturers sell water resistant gear as if it was water proof. When it rains, you'll know the difference.
