I am very aware that most colors fade in the sun. Red is one of the worst offenders, whether on a golf bag or otherwise. Unfortunately, red is a primary color in the Titleist brand. I am about to purchase another Titleist golf bag. It will be my 5th one. One stand bag and all the others are cart bags. The most recent was a 14-way cart bag in black, white and red. I got it before the 2015 season. All the red has turned pink. I love the red, white and black look, so have no desire to switch to another color combo.
I play and practice a lot, so the bag is out in the sun at least 200 days a year. I am not surprised by the fading, nor am I upset about it. I am a realist. I understand that the sun can fade colors greatly and quickly. It's physics. I get it. However, I am considering a Midsize Staff Bag, which costs a lot more than the cart bag and was hoping the red will hold up better/longer, since it is on a different type of surface material. Of course, that surface could be worse for the red. I don't know.
I am actually considering the new 2017 Midsize Staff Bag. It doesn't seem to have as much red as the present model, but still has enough to support the Titleist branding colors, which I like. Unfortunately, it's also enough to negatively affect the look of the bag once it fades to pink.
Is there anyone out there who uses a staff bag, and has done so for an extended timeframe (2 years+) who can give me some feedback as to how the red color holds up over time?
