My dad has recently told me he wants a GPS watch for Father's Day. Does anybody have a specific model they really like and/or recommend?

    Thanks!

I've got the Bushnell NEO XS. I've had it since it was released, and so far performance is great. Yardage seems accurate, battery life is at least two rounds and the 4 hazaards/hole are helpful. I think you can get it at Costco for a good price.

SkyCaddie (SkyGolf) makes some of the best units out there.

Garmin watches are really good, two of my friends use them and they are really pleased with the results.

Check out the web site because there are many different models and prices.

The farmin S2 is great, around £100 but does everything you need, frontmiddle back and layup yardages!

I have a Garmin S1 and it has been a work horse. I am really please with it except that you really only get 1 round out of the battery life. I think that they have improved their tech since the S1 so keep that in mind.

I like the Garmin 20. I have this watch and it is nice because it is thinner than the other Garmin watches and simpler to use. The other reason I bought it is because it has buttons on the sides instead of being touchscreen, watch faces are to small to be touchscreen if you ask me. Battery life is also very good, can get in 3 to 4 full rounds no problem.
  9. SkyCaddie is the best. It gives distances from all the hazards and is always accurate. I've been using ipvarious models of Skycaddie for 7 years. Although there is a small fee to get get some additional features, it's worth it...I usually get the $ back from skin games :) .

I'm still playing with the Garmin S1 ....had it since 2009.....it is spot on...can only get 27 holes on one charge. The new Garmin S20 will be my next choice...

I have a Garmin Approach X40 on order, can't give any feedback on it, other than to say I'm looking forward to all the functionality it offers.

One caution - make sure you have a guarantee. I've had a Neo and a SkyCaddie. The Neo was purchased at Xmas '14, 3 years after the Caddie. One course reversed to 10-18, 1-9 and my home course was off by 35 yards on hole 1. The Neo had the same course data as the Caddie. My luck - the 2 courses I play the most.

I've been using the Garmin S6 for a few years now and love it. No complaints.
