I've moved from carrying my clubs to using a push cart. I have a stand bag, but am looking at getting a new bag to use with my push cart or a golf cart.

I'm looking at the lightweight cart bag or lightweight staff bag. Any preferences on one or the other?

    Hi Brandon,

I have both a stand bag (carry bag) and a cart bag.  I bought the lightweight staff bag and absolutely love it (2014 model).  I like the features, (ie: metal towel ring, great looks, lots of nicely adorned pockets and zippers, plus a nice flannel lined valuables pocket).

The dividers are full length to keep the grips/clubs from intertwining and allows for easier "in/out" of the bag.  It is not a 14 way divider, but has at least 7 divided sleeves for clubs so I can separate my driver, 3-wood, from my hybrid, long irons, wedges, putter, etc.  AND, it is wide enough in the dividers to allow for larger putter grips, etc. that you may have.

Regarding push cart use, I have a Clicgear cart and my lightweight staff bag fastens nicely with very minimal twisting or turning.  Oh, and did I mention that it looks really sharp too!  : - )

Of course, if it is a shorter course or some rain is expected in the forecast, then I usually opt for my Sta Dry carry bag...waterproof with sealed seams to keep the rain out.

Regardless...hope you get lots of enjoyment and satisfaction out of your new bag to go with those great AP2's!

I went with the Titleist Staff Stand Bag.  It fits awesome on my clicgear (with no twisting) and is still light enough to carry if I need to.  Having legs is always nice to have at the driving range also.  Can't go wrong with the staff stand as it is a great all-around bag no matter if you are going to carry, push-pull, or ride!

I also have both the Staff Stand Bag, and the Mid Staff Bag.  I use a power caddy remote controlled most of the time, and use the Mid Stand Bag on that.  It fits great, and has all the pockets laid out just the way I like them.  The Staff Stand bag will fit on the power caddy or push cart, but like most with legs, it doesn't take to the push or power cart as well with those legs.  The stand bag is in the trunk to use when I carry the bag (a lot when I forget the charge the battery of the power caddy), and the Mid Staff is where the clubs reside most of the time in the bag room for use on the cart if I'm riding or daily on the power caddy.  IF you're going to use the push cart of a golf cart the majority of the time, either will work.  The lightweight Staff bag you could still carry if you had to, whereas the cart bag meant specifically for the cart, has the strap on the other side and you'd have a hard time IF you had to carry it.

Since I ride most of the time, I'm thinking of getting either the Mid-Staff bag or the Lightweight Staff bag.  Comparing the Mid-Staff and the Lightweight Staff bags,  which of these two is actually the smallest - most compact - in case I wanted to carry ocassionally?

Great question. I use my staff bag on my push cart for 2 reasons. the way the clubs fit in the cart bag and the pocket configuration is great on a riding cart but not so much on a push cart. The other...My staff bag looks cooler. Fairways & Greens, -Chris

Titleist Staff Stand Bag is the way to go. Fits perfectly on my Clicgear 8.0. Best of both worlds.

If I never had to carry my bag, I would definitely go with the staff bag. Staff bags are great just because of the amount of room for clubs and accessories.

Brandon, if you have a newer stand bag, I believe they have a strap to keep the legs from extending. My bag is quite old (10+ years) and I just saw that the bottom is starting to crack around the lever that extends the legs. I'll probably be looking for a new bag soon to house my new clubs (getting fit on the 29th in MA). Steve
