Happy New Year TT. Hope everyone has a fantastic upcoming season
I have a question on longer clubs. I play currently 13 clubs and looking to add the 14th As for wedges (some might suggest this) I am happy in that department and carry a 60-54-48-43 and feel confident with them I use a flight scope mevo to know my CARRY yardages.
I am a slower swing player. I swing the 7 iron 75-80 MPH and carry it 145 yards. My driver can go from 88-95 mph as well and carry on average 210-230 yards (I have a flight scope mevo and part of working on game this year was to know carry distances). I went from a 10.9 index to a 8.2.
In my bag (I was fit for ALL my clubs) I carry a TSR2 9* driver (Love it and FIR numbers came up for me this year) and I hit a 16.5* TSR2 metal (again like it but dispersion could be a little bit better) and then I have a TSR2 21* which I can carry 178 on average.
I'd like to entertain the idea of a 5 wood vs 18* hybrid.... I "think" the 1.5* in the wood I currently have difference won't make much?? But I like the hybrid due to rough and assessing the lie (this helped me drop HC as well)
With a bag like mine and looking at the numbers am I crazy to add a 14th club? I am thinking the 18* hybrid as this year on par 5's I'd hit a drive w/driver (use it as much as I can) and then hit the 21* and a 9 up generally speaking iron going into par 5's. That method works way better for me vs the fairway metal o the second shot....
I just do not have the confidence hitting a standard 3 metal anymore and very rarely hit my fairway metal off tees (might hit it on a 200 yard par 3) and hit it on second shots on longer for me par 5's
I have greatly learned this year dispersion outweighs distance for me...
Curious to hear opinions
Thanks guys and happy new year
