Looking for opinions. Looking at this unit

    golfworks.ca/.../

My 8 iron sees the most "action" in my bag. we top dress the fairways (with usga grade sand) a lot at my club and as a result from bunkers and top dressed fairways sand can blast the face. Not concerned about the face but the grooves. Would like to re edge some of them

Curious as to opinions on what people use. Not looking to "refurbish" the face as they are wear items however want to refresh the sand marks in the grooves. I clean my clubs after every round and practice session. They are used 5 times a week on average and they are cleaned on each shot as well with a wire brush and my towel.

    Thanks

In my opinion, it would make no difference. There is no groove wear on that iron pictured. I'd be more concerned about looking at getting properly fit for your irons... you either need lie angle adjustment or lengthening to correct that toe strike.

    Thanks for the input Brock

I actually got fit for the irons in May this year and standard loft and lie were suggested to me but mid season I started to pull and "chicken wing" it a bit (hands to left at impact) I can shank a pile as well... I am working with a pro to correct my swing flaws Strong pulls are my big miss

Some of the grooves towards the heel i've hit the club out of sand and dented the grooves. I just wanted to try and straighten them out. Ill ask my fitter I guess what they suggest as I wish to keep the clubs for a couple more years

    Thanks for the reply

No tool can replicate the factory process. Any re-grooving will technically make the club non-conforming. If you aren’t playing in sanctioned events, there are tools on the internet.
I agree there is not significant grove wear Tom Watson has displayed irons that did have significant grove wear. Down to the size of a dime. Like you, I try to spread the wear across the whole face to have them last longer.
