    For a long time I was using the pro v 1 and I was getting pretty good spin off the face but my drives were spinning too much then I switched to the pro v 1 x and they started going straighter off the tee but at the same time spinning more and compressing more off the face of the wedge I will be using the pro v1x over the normal pro v 1 for a long time to come

    You are correct, a couple of years ago the ProV1x was their low spin option. They changed them up a bit with newer cover materials and the extra layer on the ProV1x and now it spins more and flies a bit higher than the ProV1 but feels a bit firmer. Glad to hear you found what works best for you. Great that they have multiple options for every player. ProV1x works best for me, too. Enjoy!

    Since I started playing golf I’ve been jumping bac, and forth between the ProV1x and ProV1. My conundrum is some days I’ll play better with either ball. Shoot sometimes I play better with either ball on the front 9 or back 9 haha

    I really want to do a ball fittings just to get that peace of mind that I’m playing the best ball for my game.

    I get it Jay. I was pretty sure ProV1x was going to work best for me but I stuck with ProV1 for quite a while until attending the TT Short Game event last year at Pinehurst. They had us on TrackMan with driver, 7 iron, and wedge with both balls and as suspected, the ProV1x numbers were much better for me. I had always preferred the feel of the ProV1, especially while putting. It took a couple of months to get used to the firmer feel but the benefits with all the other shots made it worth the transition. I try not to do too much switching back and forth as my lag putting really suffers if I alternate golf ball types. I highly recommend a ball fitting. At least do the on-line questionnaire but ultimately, its a personal choice about what works best in your game and what trade-offs you are willing to make. Hit'm straight and stay safe.

    I always find it interesting to compare and contrast the regular and the X. Both bars are just the cream of the crop, i just prefer the regular Prov1, it suits my game better.

    Knowing the comparison is apples to oranges but I was playing the Velocity thru the spring (about 10 rounds) then switched to the ProV1x (about 10 rounds). The flight off the driver is different and I have lost some carry distance but with drier conditions the distance is about equal. The spin of the X is so nice on short irons and wedges and the X just holds on the green that much better. YMMV.

    The last time I was fitted for my driver my spin numbers were in the 3,000 range. I was playing the last generation of the Pro V1 at the time. Then the new AVX came out and I played it late last season and early this season. The spin is lacking on the AVX so I ordered a dozen of the new generation ProV1 which should arrive this month. I will see if I made the correct decision.

    That’s Interesting. I know a lot of people recommend getting fit with the ball you game.

    If you don't mind a firm ball, try the ProV1x Left Dash. It will reduce spin throughout the set, including driver, over any of the other balls (the exception being the AVX, which is low spin). But overall, the Left Dash will be longer if you produce a decent clubhead speed
