I found this ball at Circling Raven in August, anybody know what type of ball this is? I haven't seen a ball with the compression written on it in years.

That's the precursor to the ProV1. After the balata balls. I think it was last out in the 90's but the TT experts here could add more to that I'm sure more accurately

    Tom, thanks for the information.

It's actually not in bad shape, just a bit dirty. it definitely does not look like it was there for years being lost. Circling

    Raven opened in 2003.

Hoping Team Titleist experts could shed some light on this.

Surprisingly I occasionally find an "oldie" on our course too. We are by no means a high-end golf course so i think in our case, the guy/gal that only plays once every 5 years, probably in a local scramble, brings whatever is leftover in their golf bag or garage. If they have would have been laying out in the elements for long, they would look pretty bad or even buried by the grass and dirt.

Yes, the last "wound" ball by Titleist. They went from a balata cover to urethane but still a liquid core wound ball. Came along at a time when Greg Norman was playing the Tour Edition and you were seeing companies developing alternatives to the old wound balata balls. Professional quickly gave way to solid core ProV1.

I have the exact ball in my cabinet from a tournament I played. It is definitely a descendant from the balata family. It looks new until you look closely and notice how out of round it is. No wonder I wasn't making more putts.

not as long as the Pro V by a long shot....But still my favorite ball of all time! Think the last time I played one was 2004.

I remember those; Titleist Professionals. They Also came in 100 compression.

One of my favorite balls back in the day!
  10. I have a couple of these as well as the Professional 100's. I didn't take up the game until after high school (about a month after I graduated). The Dunham's Sporting Goods closest to me used to sell Titleist logo overruns. There were usually a couple Professionals in each dozen. I may still have a couple.
  11. The best ball line ever made.
  12. That was a great ball for it's time. I loved playing it when I could afford them.

I believe Tiger won a few majors with that ball before he switched to the swoosh.
