How long do you go?

    I am sure this has been discussed before, but i missed the boat! How long do you guys go with your Titleist golf balls? Are you a certain number of holes person or wait until its scuffed or marked up enough that its not appealing to you anymore? or another favorite, until you lose it LOL

    Me personally I like to go as long as possible, rounds at a time if I am lucky! Sometimes though, ill bench one in hope of lower scores!

    Until the ball loses its sheen and starts to pick up dirt and mud easier - about 54 holes usually.

    Until it gets a scuff mark on it .... probably from the multiple trees & cart paths I hit. $4 balls just don't hold up to those as well as I would like

    Until it gets a couple bad marks from trees/cart paths or until it cracks. Most of the time that's somewhere around 50 holes. Give or take a few.

    I play my Titleist ball until I lose it. Happens sooner or later.

    Like Gabriel, I play my Titleist until I lose it. I might "lose" one if it gets too many scuffs from trees/paths. Either way, my TruSofts usually last 4-5 rounds.

    I play the Pro V1x until it no longer looks like a new ball. I have some old models stock piled that I use the most. If it's a match, then the new models get used.

    I play one ball per month which is eight rounds on average. I then use them as practice putting balls. I feed in the monthly balls to replace the putting balls and give the putting balls to beginners. I have never been turned down. Everyone loves Titleist.

    As with most, until it finds the woods,the water or the cart path I'll play it. I'm not a fan of scuffs on my ball either. Once that happens it's tossed in the with the other practice balls. Most of the time I'm getting 18 holes out of a ball. But I've also donated new balls to water as well.

    Once it's scuffed, scratched or I see an off white/yellowish worn spot.

    I play one until it loses it's new appearance (gets dull looking after cleaning) about 4 rounds usually or until I scuff it too bad to want to play it.

    ALL go into my shag bag for chipping and putting after their playing days are over.

    Until it gets scratched or scuffed (like from one of my wedges) where performance is effected.

    Is performance really effected by a scuff? I think for most amateur players no. I would say until the dimples have visual wear, ball flight is the same unless you are able to flight balls a specific trajectory on command.

    At the end of the day I think eye appeal is the biggest factor when to switch a ball. Personally

    Soon as it’s scuffed, marked or any damage at all, it’s time for a nice new one

    I generally put a new ball in play each round, just something about a brand new shiny Pro V1 that inspires confidence on the 1st tee.

    Usually the ball will reach a point where it is visibly worn. Minor abrasions, loss of shine, gets dirty and won't get clean. That's my switching point, unless I lose the ball before that of course. All old balls go in another pocket in my bag, for lean times haha.

    I'm like Jim C. I'll get my 4 for 3 with the Spring special this month, and after I mark them up, I put a new ball in play for every round where the score matters (as long as I'm not just banging it around, trying to get the swing in shape or the very early part of the season where the course is still iffy). The ball then goes in the bag as backup, in the event the next round I hit that nice new one into a hazard or lose it. Nothing new then, but into the bag for a backup/leftover. Been doing this for a few years and it works well for me

    Either lost or looking too ugly. Have 36 holes on my current Pro V1.

    Wow... how good are you guys that you can play ball until it's no longer aesthetically appealing! I'm a 7 handicap and rarely go 36 holes without losing a ball. In fact I rarely go 18 without losing a ball!!!

    Yep same here; “54 holes; 4-5 rounds??? Most times I get cuts/marks within 18 holes on the ball with out hitting tree/cart path.... ProV1/ProV1x on dry fast fairways/greens!
