At my home golf club everyone knows how much of a Titleist loyalist and nut I am and this past Saturday a good friend of mine gave me two AVX balls he purchased in Florida. I was playing in a club shootout that afternoon so I used my ProV1x, however; Sunday morning I decided to play my round with the AVX. While I was warming up on the putting green I noticed how much softer the ball felt than the ProV1x but the biggest difference for me was simply the difference in the dimples. The dimples on the AVX appear to be much more shallow. I started my round with my 917D3 and noticed immediately how much lower the ball flight was which I think can be attributed to a lot less spin off the driver. Once the ball hit the ground it had tremendous roll. The playability around the greens was also very good. The check on greens may not have been as good as the ProV1x but can be managed with little adjustment. Other than having a softer feel on all clubs, the aspect that blew my mind was the increase in iron distance. These things exploded off the clubface of my AP3s. I was easily 1 to 1.5 clubs longer. It was so noticeable that one of my playing partners, that I play with every weekend, was getting a little upset and saying that he thought Titleist was selling an illegal golf ball. Please get this golf ball to all markets soon. I really didn't think I would ever quit playing the ProV1x but once I can purchase this ball in North Carolina, this will be my ball of choice. It's definitely a game changer for me.
