Same here Gayle. Seemed to fly lower on drives and full shots but felt great chipping and putting.

Got 4 dozen AVX sent to me in Alabama from my son in AZ. Have played three rounds and love them. Soft feel but great stability off the driver. Love feel around greens and off the putter. Very durable as well. I have always been a Titleist ball guy, but left for Chrome Soft 2 years ago. Finally a ball that has me back. Hope it’s a keeper for Titleist. I am a 0.1 index so it can be played by a wide range of handicaps.

Hi SM ... I really appreciated your feedback. So can you share with me and the others how you found the trajectory of the ball, (did it pierce the air/penetrating ball flight?). Did you try working the ball at all and if so, what were your experiences? And lastly, how did you find it to putt with and in use around the greens (chipping and pitch shots/approach shots). Were you able to put the kind of spin on the ball that you were wanting to?

The AVX is a has a penetrating flight and cuts through the wind. It is low spin off of the long irons and spins well off the short irons. What I appreciate is that it doesn't have "crazy spin" and is controllable. The feel off the putter is really good. The spin around the greens is acceptable, but doesn't spin as much as the ProVs.
It is as durable as any Titleist I've ever played. The cover still looks good long after the writing on the ball starts to come off. I've changed balls just because I'll get 3 or 4 rounds with the same ball and it just seems you are "supposed" to put a new ball in play at some point. Ha ha

I am looking forward to trying these! I changed from the Pro V1x to the new Pro V1 , and it's doing well. I'd be surprised if I change. But, always willing to try a new Titleist!

I picked up a sleeve of the yellow AVX today. Play to put them in play tomorrow and find out what the skinny is for myself. I've been playing to use up all the older Pro V1s I've still got in stock long with a few Pro V1x from my newer stock. I was fit by Titleist last summer for the Pro V1x after having previously been fit for the Pro V1. I'll keep Dino's questions in mind while I play and pass on my thoughts after I've played a couple of times with them.

Okay, gang. Here are my thoughts so far. I've played two and a half rounds with at the same yellow AVX (see photos below). Flight off the driver does seem definitely lower than that with my usual Pro V1X. Distance seems better, but the course has been very dry, so some of that can be attributed to additional roll in my opinion. To be sure, I'd have to try the ball once the course softens from recent rains. Irons: Approach shots tend to fly higher than I'm used to, and about 5 or more yards longer. Bite and grip on landing seems to be much the same from these distances. Pitches and chips: Pretty much the same as with my Pro V1Xes. Putting: A bit softer feel, but sweet off the putter head and, as expected from a Titleist ball, a true roll. Durability: With 45 holes on it, the ball does not appear much changed from when it was new. The cover is a bit duller, but there is minimal scarring from contact with either the clubs or the environment.

@pulplvr -- Thanks for the feedback! It is sounding like a pretty good ball! Great details on the feedback -- it sounds like a nice high visibility alternative to the NXT Tour S and the Pro V series.

I had read on one of the golf news sites that the primary purpose of the AVX testing has been to see if golfers are more interested in a softer premium ball for those that prefer a softer feel or if golfers are motivated primarily by a premium ball at a lower price point. I also understand that they have changed their cover formulation - process to enable the yellow dye to be added.
