While watching my hometown hero, Steve Stricker, in the Champions event, I was noticing something unusual about Paul Goydos. His drives weren't especially high launching, but he was consistently longer than Kenny Perry. That never happened before - Perry was one of the "long guys" on that tour. I saw the Titleist logo on a bunker shot but couldn't pick out the number color. My guess was it was the V. Like Paul, my drives with the V aren't picture perfect, but on a firm fairway, I'm longer than with the X. Great job on the 2017 V.

The new 2017 Pro V1 is amazing, very long, but with great green side feel and spin. I used to play the X, but the new V is outstanding.

Although the V1 is not as soft as I would prefer, when you hit it square it is very long compared to the V1's in past generations. When the ball was introduced this year Adam Scott mentioned the V1 was now longer than ever, no real difference between the V1 and the V1x in regards to distance.

Good guess, Don. I checked our list above of tour pros and he plays a Prov1.

Pro V1 for me. I have noticed that I am hitting the ball a little farther this year. I thought maybe my swing was getting better, but now you have me guessing it is the ball. I'll take it either way.

Yes, the 2017 ProV1 is exactly what I was looking for. Great distance, perfect trajectory, and excellent short game control. I would venture to say that more professionals have switched from the ProV1X to the new 2017 ProV1 than have switched the other way.
