I played in the City of Charleston Annual Senior Men's Championships this weekend. It is a three day match play tournament. Thought I would give one of my test balls a try this weekend and it came thru like the champ that it is. I won the Second flight in the Super Senior Division (ages 60-69) with a score of 240. I am 70 and had the option to play in that division or the Super Super Senior Division for 70+. As you can see I kept the winning ball in the trophy. Time to retire it after playing with the same ball for two straight days. Great ball and it is the new Prov1 test ball. Sundays round was pure Irish golf. Mid 40s, 15 mph winds and rain. Tough playing conditions. Not you typical Charleston, SC weather. Thanks Titleist.

Congrats Chuck on you victory, but you really didn't expect anything less than the best from that ball being the Titleist loyalist that you are now did you?

Congrats Chuck. Are the test balls on the USGA conforming list?

Tyler, I couldn't find it on there but I may have missed it.

Here is the link for anyone interested: www.usga.org/.../gball_list.pdf

Rick and Tyler: You will not find it on the list as you know. The ball itself is a conforming ball, even though it is not on the list. Titleist gave me a clear definition regarding this ball and the USGA's position. This information was sent to the head pro/chairperson for this tournament and he stated that it was not an issue or violation in their tournament.

Congrats on getting it sorted out. I would be curious as to what Titleist had to say regarding the test balls. Are they ok for USGA sanctioned events?

They said that they are conforming balls but not on the list of conforming balls, per the USGA. I sent their response to the tournament committee and they made the decision.
