Titleist Range/Practice Balls

    I have ran across several Titleist balls over the years with no normal ball markings on them other than the normal Titleist name and Practice stamped on the side. I'm curious where they come from or what these type these balls are? Are they balls that did not pass the inspection process and Titleist uses them for courses who want Titleist range balls? Or are they a special ball Titleist makes for courses who use their brand as their range balls?

    Just being curious.

    You can get them at some golf shops. They're likely Pro V1 practice balls. I have a dozen that I keep in my basement practice area. You're right, the box says they didn't pass for one reason or another and that if they're marked Pro V1 that doesn't mean they couldn't be an X.

    I've wondered that as well and I'm kicking myself for not asking it earlier. Thanks for the question and the reply folks.

    We use Titleist NXT for our practice range and they say PRACTICE on them.
    They also sell them to the public (we don't). They are 100% legal for tournament play and really do not differ in play ability to any other Titleist ball.

    Range balls and Practice balls are "restricted flight" golf balls. I wouldn't recommend using them in round or tournament play. You are losing 15 to 20 yards distance using these balls any where but the range.
