Anyone have any experience with the performance line Titleist balls? I am a loyal Pro-V1x player but when I don't have those I tend to rely on Chrome Soft ball and have great results-- lots of spin around the green, good feel off the club. Have never tried any of Titleist's lower priced balls and was looking for some input on those.

    Thanks

    Hi Ryan,

My preferred ball is the Titleist Pro V1X -- great ball, great distance and terrific spin around the greens. Like you, I occasionally play the Chrome Soft and agree with your comments about it.

Regarding your question about other Titleist balls, this past winter I have been trying the NXT Tour S -- the previous generation (before the new one announced last month).

It feels great too -- nice soft feel off of the club face and some pretty good green side control/spin as well. BUT, I do prefer the softer urethane covers on the PRO V line of golf balls.

I will continue to buy some of the NXT Tour S balls throughout the winter months that I play, but I will rely on the PRO V1X for the remainder of the season.

I also have played pro v1x as my normal ball, but nxt tour s is definitely a close behind it, very soft with good control around the green

Like those before me, I play the ProV1x. I usually purchase them when the loyalty program comes out each year. As a back up though I play the NXT Tour S . I like the yellow one during the winter months. When the sky is grey it's gets harder to see the white ball. Nothing worse than losing a ProV even in the fairway when you can't pick it up during flight.

I play the ProV1x during the season, but tend to look for less expensive options during the off season. The NXT Tour S is the closest to the V1/V1x, but I prefer to go with other discount premium balls. I try to pick some up anytime they go on sale. My preference is the B330-S. Other urethane cover balls will bite more around the greens. That being said, during the summer and any tournaments I play ProV1x because I know exactly how the ball will preform every time.

I've played the ProV1 for years, have flirted with the ProV1x but am very impressed with the NXT Tour balls....they are at least 10 yards longer, for me, off the tee and the irons. They don't hold the greens as well, but they will reward a good shot. As I get older, the NXT Tour S may become my standard ball.

Pro V1x is my ball. However the first hole on my favorite course has an elevated fairway that runs next to the practice range. If your drive is pulled and you get over there your looking at a sea of balls. That's why I hit the NXT Tour S Yellow ball on the first hole of my favorite course, otherwise it's Pro V1x.

Like many of the others, I play the Pro V1x mostly. I also like the NXT Tour and play those on occasion, particularly when I get in fits of losing golf balls. Strangely, I putt a little better with the NXT, but for everything else I prefer the Pro V1x.

I play the Pro V1x during the warmer months, usually during the late fall/winter months I switch to the Pro V1 practice ball.
