I've always set my ball up to hit the "seam" on the cover. I'm curious to see what Titleist says about this.

Titleist doesn't care. Conforming USGA balls can't have directional alignments. How you see the ball on the tee is what is important. If you need to hit it on the numbers, then put the number dead center at the back.

Yeah i'm with Don on this. I've never heard of this before where placing a ball on the tee a certain way will increase your distance. How do you explain the process when you're ball is in the fairway, rough or bunker? Can't pick it up and place it a certain way right? I always set the ball up on the tee where i see no logo, nothing. Just plain white. And i do that so i don't get distracted. After that, I play as it lies and i stuck it up :) Good question though.. Never thought about that...
