It has been awhile since I've played Pro V1 balls, but I'm considering returning to them. I used to play Pro V1X because the Pro V1 would balloon too much hitting into the wind and spin too much into the greens. How do the new versions compare? Don't really know which one to buy.

I play the ProV 1 and find it to be a little softer and more spin than the 1x. There are times I will play the 1x when I want less spin. That makes a good reason to have both in the bag.

ProV1 spins more with the driver and longer irons, with a bit lower launch and flight.  I think both balls perform similarly around the greens, with the ProV1 being softer.

ProV1x flies higher with less spin.

I always played the ProV1 until this newest ball came out, I have switched to the ProV1x because I felt it performed about the same as the ProV1 around the green and yet had the little added distance.  Can't go wrong either way!

Same here.  Adam Scott and Jimmy Walker are two pros that did the same thing this year, as both used the ProV1 up until the start of this season.
