I have a set of 714 - AP2's that I will be retiring soon. I would like to donate the clubs, which are still in good shape, to a worthy organization for youth. The problem is that the clubs have stiff shafts which are 1-1/2 inches over standard length. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than completely reshafting the entire set, that would make the clubs usable by someone of normal height?

I would approach a local course with an established junior development program. They can not only ensure they get to someone suitable (wrt Stiff Shafts) but can likely trim them down to an appropriate height without too much effort as well. Just a thought.

Michael - A very noble thing you are wishing to do ! I have done the same with all my clubs as soon as I put new ones in my bag. That way I can never be tempted to go back :) I am fortunate to be a member at a club and I have taken my clubs in to our pro so he could pass them on to one of the juniors that may be in need of a better set. If you are not a member at a club, perhaps one of the courses where you play often has a junior program. Worth a chat with the local club pro... It should be easy for the club pro to shorten them before putting on a new set of grips...

Hi Jason and Darius. Thanks for the tips. I have ordered my new clubs through a local pro and will talk to him about his junior program!
