Need Bag Help Please - Canada

So a couple of years ago I bought my Titleist Mid Staff bag and absolutely love it. Always wanted one just like the pros (just a tik smaller though ) and the quality of my bag is beyond belief, as is the durability as well, just to mention a few good qualities. Now last fall joined my local club that's 5 mins from home. It's a 9 hole you play twice and is very challenging for me at my stage in golf. But in the last 2 months with the great weather and long nights I like to nip out for 9 holes, either play or practice. So I have been thinking it would be great to get a stand bag, and what else would I choose besides Titleist. But it's taken a back seat to other financial obligations that we all have in life. Now the other day noticed a nice new one with a fellow member's name on it. I complimented him on his choice, and he told me the reason why he was getting a new one as I had said to him, "your bag looks fine to me, and Titleist have such great quality why do need a new one?" So he told me how his clubs were rubbing thought on the shaft from the top of the bag. Then he showed me his broken 3 wood shaft (it looked sad) I said good reason too. I also asked him if he would sell me his old one as it would certainly do the trick for my needs in the summer. And delightfully he did. So I want to repair the top padding, as you can see in the picture it's worn right through to the plastic separators. And I really like the bag as it's lightweight and has lots of pockets so I think it is worth saving. So I am wondering (maybe even Titleist could pop a suggestion too?) what my fellow TT members have done for repairs on bags? perhaps there's a certain shop that could do it? perhaps they have a trick or two to teach me? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

That's a tough one. There are some upholstery and luggage repair shops around that might give you a quote but it might be just as cheap to pick up a lightly used or even an unused prior addition bag at a reasonable cost. I don't know any good DIY methods for replacing that padding that would not look pretty shabby. The last few generations of bags have changed that interior padding to a much softer and durable material. Good luck with it, hope you find a solution.

I've found that if you buy some Tennis Wrist Sweat bands, preferably colored (not white) and cut them in half (either lengthwise or across whichever cut makes it fit) and then do a test fold over and once you're satisfied with the cut, super glue them over the dividers and down into the drapery of the dividers. Once finished, you'll think it's a new bag!

I had a similar experience with my Titleist Bag. The cloth wore down to the point where the hard plastic divider was exposed and wore down my driver shaft quite a bit. My irons also had some wear, but fortunately nothing serious. I went to the local Fabric Land store and browsed through their section where they had various part rolls of fabric on sale. I found a faux fur that I thought would work, as well as some high quality fabric glue that the staff in the store recommended would do a good job. I cut the fabric to pieces that would fit over the cross members and made them long enough to fit down into the bag about 3 inches on both sides. After I got everything glued in, I took a pair of scissors and trimmed the fur down so that it would still offer protection for the clubs, but would also allow them to be pulled out of the bag without binding... It was a great project to undertake last winter and I am thrilled with the results...
