Goldpanner is on the right track. My suggestion is to go somewhere where you can find both putters (like a Golf Town) and go to their putting area. Place a dime as a marker on the ground and try three putts from that spot with one putter then switch to the other putter from the same spot. Move the dime and try the same thing again, only change the sequence starting with putter B.
I did that with three different Scotty Putters when I was looking for a new one and interestingly enough found that one of them kept missing a tad right, a second one kept missing a tad left while the third I could keep on line. I tried from 4 different spots and the results were the same. Turns out that the eye sees the line differently with different putters and in the end, the one that gets the ball in the holes is the one you really want :)

And to add to the discussion, if you are able to, I would also get the putter fit for you and your stroke. I don't know if TITLEIST actually does that, but there is a terrific putting studio out here on the west coast that does putter fittings, including balancing. They use the Quintic putting system for fittings and teaching. They coach Adam Hadwin and recently have worked with Alena Sharp. It's definitely something to consider in terms of getting the most out of your new putter and your stroke.

i have been rolling a newport 3 all season so far. i have a newport 2 on order, im a practice before i play kind of golfer. so which ever one feels best that day will be in the bag.

Get fitted for it if you are going to be spending that type of money and for a Scotty as well. It won't be good if you drop $500+ on a putter then it doesn't help your game and you put it aside and start using your old putter again.

If you are looking in Southern Ontario, they will do fittings at the Titleist National Fitting Center at Eagles Nest.

At the top menu click under the "Fitting" section, select "Golf Club Fitting". On that page select "Find a Fitting Location" Type in your postal code and it will bring up the closest recommended fitting centers in your area.

I had the California Monterey 1.5 for a few years until I started reading about putting line and toe hang.....yikes!! I went to see Chris at The Titleist Fitting Center at Eagles Nest and they had every Scotty putter to try out!! I went in with an open mind trusting them (especially having the faith with what he helped me with for my others clubs) and we settled on the Futura 5.5M I was told to order a 36" (stock but not in stores) and been completed on my putting ever since! i have so much confidence in this club and what a difference. So what I am saying is if you are to drop that kind of money on the putter....a club you use pretty much every hole, then go and get fit!! Plus they make you feel like a pro when you go there.
