Some of you may recall back in June when I was asking for some help in my pursuit of IT.

This week it appears that I have found IT. Not sure how long I will be able to hang on to IT as IT does seem to have a mind of it's own and chooses to come and go as it pleases.

On Monday - When I first grabbed a hold of IT, I shot 74 from our back tees on our two nines that work out to a par 71 rating 72.8 / 138. I figured that was the end of IT but today I went out on a different combination of nines rated at par 70 rating 71.9 / 129 and fired off a 70. I actually lipped out for a birdie on the 18th hole for a potential sub-par round :)

Everything was working great. Kept hitting fairways and even struck my 915F a full 242 yds on to the green on one of our longer par fours. My Scotty was in it to win it today as I made 4 birdies and each of those were with putts between 40 and 12 feet.

This weekend is our Club Championship. I can only hope that I can hang on to IT for 5 more days to play that well over the weekend. The big question will be whether I will shoot my normal 80 or 81 from our back tees, or if somehow this is my new normal :)

So thrilled to have my Titleist clubs and my ProV1x balls in the bag.

Best Wishes for the Club Championship Darius!

I am glad that you played your way back to "it" and are posting the scores that you are more accustomed. I was experiencing a good streak of solid play too... posting several sub-80 numbers for a good 6-8 weeks. Last two weeks, I can hardly threaten to break 80! Again, best wishes in the Club Championship!
  4. Awesome "it" is the best feeling in golf and everything about the game is better when you have "it" , hot days seems cooler , wind feels like it's always at your back and even the smell of cut grass smells better. Congrats and finding your game and good luck at your CC

I need to find IT for a whole round. IT usually shows up on a couple of holes here and there.

Good luck at your club championship. Hopefully you still have IT.

Darius, can I borrow IT when you are done in a couple weeks for the Canadian mid am? I promise to give IT back.
Good luck in your Club C! You deserve IT my good Titleist friend!

Thank you all for your best wishes.
It was a hard fought battle and in the end I managed to pull off my third second place finish to go with my single win back in 2006.
It was quite the challenge as my closest competitor kept trading the lead back and forth throughout the round. He was two up going into the 18th hole so I knew I absolutely had to do something spectacular to stand a chance. His drive rattled off some trees but came to rest on the edge of the fairway forcing him to lay up. I hit one of my best drives of the day leaving me 184 yds down hill to the flag. I hit a pure 6 iron down the hill and my ball came to rest 15 feet from the pin. My fellow competitor hit his third shot to 8 feet. Digging deep I managed to drain the birdie putt forcing him to make the 8 footer to avoid the play-off. Despite the pressure which was now weighing heavily on his shoulders, he drained his putt for par to win by a shot.
Over all it was a great tournament and I know I could not have done so well if not for my bag full of Titleist products. At the age of 60 it is the Titleist metals, wedges, and irons along with the great ProV1x ball that keep me competitive against these younger players.
    Maybe next year ??????

Well done Darius! You "left it all out there" and played well. Glad you were able to bring your "A" game. :).

Sometimes we all need to remember that a large part of the game of golf is the journey itself! Keep up the good play and go get them next year! All the best for a good August and September!
