Finally after a couple delays got out to the national fitting centre at Eagle's Nest. The building is currently in the process of a big upgrade!
Chris was great, and it was awesome to hit off a grass range outdoors for a fitting. I've never trusted my swing in a simulator. We did a whole bag fitting, and got through everything in 1.5 hours.
I admittedly hit too many warm up balls, and my swing was a little hooky on the day and I was really trying to work it out before I started the fitting. Highlights were the very apparent change in feel and control I got from moving my driver to an extra stiff shaft. Had always been on the border of playing in that flex, but all of a sudden the club started doing more of the work.
Also after playing some beat up spin milled vokeys, where the most bang for my buck will be my new wedge set up in the SM6's. So much more confident on full shots with the F grind.
The fitting finished with a gift of a towel and 6 ProV's, very appreciated.
Have ordered the driver and 5 wood so far, and with that and the recent acquisition of a used 98 Del Mar 2 long slant, that I plan on refinishing, I will officially be 100% Titleist!
Plan to keep my 910 head covers on the woods... still love em.
