Jimmy Walker and Titleist take a Major win this weekend !
I took a few things from the win this weekend.
1. Jimmy Walker can play under pressure as we saw most particularly on the 18th hole when he knew he needed a par for the win.
2. Jason Day knows how to apply pressure hitting 2 iron / 2 iron on the 18th hole par 5 to set himself up for a relatively easy putt for eagle. More importantly - he made the putt.
3. Jimmy Walker did not fool around trying to hit close to the pin knowing that on the green with two putts was enough to take the tournament. (good lesson to me on golf course management in the heat of a tournament).
4. Jason Day has a ton of class !!! When Jimmy was beside the green and it was pretty well a given that he would pull off the win, Jason with his son in hand went down to the 18th to watch the final putt and be one of the first to congratulate Jimmy Walker !!!
Well done by Jimmy and thanks for demonstrating such great sportsmanship to Jason.
