    I was curious...

How many rounds to you use your ball before you retire it, or are you like me and play it until either it runs and hides or gets marred by one to many cart paths ?

I find it hard to simply toss away a ball that still looks good even though I have used it for a number of rounds. I love my ProV1x and sometimes I get on a run and can use the same ball for 4 or 5 rounds before it finally decides it has had enough of me and hides somewhere in the fescue :) It does speak well for the Titleist balls that they continue to perform after so many hits.

I will admit that I will pull out a new one to start the round when I am playing something like the club championship, but not so often for one of my regular rounds.

I'm not sure I have retired one by choice. I seem to just "rent" them for a few holes. BTW is the spring special coming again this year? Buy 3 dozen and get 1 free. I feel better losing the 12 free ones first.

I usually play them until they get scuffed. Then they move over to the shag bag for use on our short game practice holes. Must be the Scots blood in me!!

they have to be really damaged or worn before i throw them into the bag i give to my coworkers kid to hit into the lake.
I lose them quicker than that happens

I'm usually doing pretty good if I can get a couple rounds out of a ball before it suffers heat exhaustion... and decides to cool off in a pond. Personally I think the Pro V1 is much more durable now than it used to be so it seems like less of problem than with prior generations.

Call me crazy but I tee up a brand new ProV1 every round. If I lose it, I get a "day old" out of the bag. I don't lose too many so I have a pretty good looking arsenal of practise balls. I just love the feeling of teeing up a nice new V1 on the first tee every round!

I have to agree with Michael M. I play mine until it is scuffed and then move it to my range bucket.
I will also keep a few scuffed ones in the bag for the days that my game isn't up to snuff and I don't deserve to be playing a new ball.

Mother nature is teasing us in Alberta with unusually warm temperatures this month. I just hope we don't get another large dump of snow and stall the early opening this spring.

    Play well...

I use mine until I lose it or it's simply to banged up to use anymore. Since I don't hit it far enough to lose most days I generally have one ball for at least two or three rounds.

I love playing a brand spanking new PRO V1x on the first tee -- but I tend to do that for more "special" occasions ... special occasions being like a gloriously beautiful morning (warm sunshine, blue skies, birds singing, etc).

However, many other days I start with a gently used ball C...gently used in that it may have seen a few rounds but does not have scars from doing battle with the cart path!

Once my ball gets scuffed up from the cart path or if it was used for a few rounds and has groove marks in it, then I will do like others here and toss it into my practice bag or shag bag for chipping/sand practice, etc.

I always start a round with A new prov1x. If I lose it I pull one of the older ones to finish the round.

Always start with a new ball as well. I may introduce the previous game's used ball on a long par three where difficulty is obvious such as when water or O.B. is present.

I play a ball until I either lose it or it gets severely scuffed up. If its just a minor scuff it"ll go in the bag and get used again when I lose al the other balls I have. If its a major scuff it goes in my kids bag.
  13. Depends. If I am playing competitive round all the balls in the bag are brand new. If I am playing a practice round then I grab a couple from the shag bag and use them. Other then that once its done 18 holes into the shag bag it goes.

When its my decision, I'll play one until there is visible enough damage that it may hinder performance. But as a general rule, my balls will take it upon themselves to retire to some waterfront property or invisible cabin in the woods.
