Bubba crushes a ProV1x

    I accidentally posted this to the World Wide site so I am posting again here on the CANADA site...

    I don't know about you, but I would not want to be Bubba's ProV1x. 

    Bubba won the Travellers tournament in the playoff and well deserved. 

    The way he rips at the ball with not only his driver, but also with his irons, I can only imagine the beating his poor ball gets when compared to what my ProV1x experiences on the course :)

    I know I get as many as two or three rounds out of my Titleist before I feel it is time to change it out. I often wonder how many times through a round these big hitters have to change balls ?

    Hi Darius, I suspect that with the new balls, Titleist R&D will probably say that it takes a lot of rounds and things to happen before the ball becomes "unplayable" or in the case of a hard hitting pro like Bubba, before the ball loses some significant performance characteristics. I would tend to agree too... the newer generation balls are fantastic - especially if you are old enough to remember the Balata balls and how easily the cut and became out of round! I played two rounds in the last 3 weeks (been so busy with work that I couldn't play much at all), but I tried out the new Pro V1X and boy was I surprised at how well that ball performed for me over my usual PRO V1!

    The concern isn't hitting a ball flush with driver or irons. It's the wedges and chip shots. I have a swing speed in the 120s and compress the ball hard. I don't replace my ball unless it hits cart path and gets covered in scraps. Also delicate high lofted wedge shots or bunker shots destroy the cover. I have 3 pro v1 x in my bag that are cart path or messed up from spin milled vokeys. I usually lose them but that's tough for me right now lol I'm playing pretty well atm

    Bubba does hit it hard (every time) and if I'm his ball, I'm yelling OUCH!!!
