    Hey fellow Canadian TT'ers:

I don't mind the new look of the Team Titleist discussion boards.  One interface or another doesn't matter to me.  The graphical presentation of the discussion is far less important than the discussion itself.  I liked the vibe and sense of community of a Canadian presence.  Sure, it was pretty GTA centric, but let's face it: the majority of our country's population lives within a two hours drive of Toronto.

With the revamped website, everybody worldwide is lumped together, and most of the activity is from the US.  No disrespect intended.  I know that the game is no different south of the border than it is up here, but somehow I just don't identify with their community.  Texans don't know what it is to play a leafy.  Californians don't know the pure joy of seeing your home course wake up from winter hibernation and that the greens haven't been destroyed by winter kill.

After two days of poking around, I discovered that our Canadian forum has been migrated to the "regional" discussion area. No offence, but it feels a little like riding the short bus.  Looks like Australia/NZ, Southeast Asia and UK/Ireland have been similarly treated.

I know that in general, people have a hard time embracing change.  I try not to be a luddite, I will try to have an open mind.  Maybe I will find a home in the new larger community... but I'm just not feeling it right now.  And, judging from the fact there hasn't been a post to the Canadian regional discussion group in over two days, I'm thinking I'm not alone.

    Regards,

    Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your open and honest feedback.
We are still here and you are most definitely not alone.

We have consolidated the categorized forums as a way to create a global discussion.  As you have noticed, there is still a Canada forum for Canadians to post anytime! As well, Team Titleist Canada Staff that you have become familiar with will still be in this forum responding to your questions and engaging in conversation.  We'll also be engaged in the global threads as well.

We look at it as a win-win in that we maintain the localized discussions in the country forums while engaging larger global conversations in the categorized forums.  The differences in the Canadian climate, style of courses, conditions, side from which many of us hit the ball etc. is something that can be celebrated with a global community.  We think of that as a positive! ; )

We welcome your continued feedback in the months ahead as you continue to interact with the site under this new format.

    Thanks again Kevin.

    Regards,
    Mitch D

As a hint for my fellow Candians, I changed my link to the discussion forum to the following:

    http://www.titleist.ca/teamtitleist/team-titleist/f/302.aspx

This way I get the Canadian content filtered back to what we had before. Although I would imagine that eventually if I do not look at the entire site I will slowly start missing connections with my favourite posters :)

Good Morning fellow Canadian Team Titleist members.  I can't say that I am a huge fan of the new look of the Team Titleist  forum and like others have said I found it difficult to navigate over the last few days to locate discussions that might be of interest to me. Prior to the change I was able to view posts from US, Britain, Australia, and other parts of the world (if I chose to) but... I was always more interested in what my fellow Canadian Team Titleist members had to say about their experiences with the golf equipment I have grown to love over the last 16+ years.  I just found it easier to relate to and share with like minded ones on the Canadian Team Titleist forum.

I do a lot of research on the internet about golf, stocks, photography and many of my other interests.  My time is limited and I find I enjoy sites that make it easy for me to use.   I really don't see this change in format as an improvement but I'm just an old duffer who finds it difficult to change anyway. LOL  Thanks to Darius for providing a link to Canadian Team Titleist content which I have bookmarked and plan to use to make it easier to find the information that I consider of most interest to me.  Hopefully someone will listen and there will be a real improvement in the way we view and use this forum for Canadian content, eh.  Have a great day!

    Hi Mitch,

Thanks for the considered reply.  "The side from which many of us hit the ball"  Hahahahaha!!!!!!

I have to admit I was worried that the Canadian TT staff had been the victims of corporate budget cuts, so I am very relieved you're sill here.  You have been a valuable source of information, and in my opinion instrumental in fostering a sense of community in the Canadian TT discussion groups.  I would have been very disappointed if had disappeared.

I suppose it is too much to hope that after this grand unification, that us Canucks will be eligible to enter the lucrative USA TT sweepstakes ?   ;)

    Darius,

As always, you raise good points.  Golfers in the states that border Canada probably share more in common with us than they do with the southern states, in the sense of climate, types of grass, the experience of mid-winter getaways to play golf in warmer climates.  Bottom line, we are all golfer.  And, as we say in Quebec: "Vive la difference".

I think I'll run over to the GolfTown simulators this afternoon, and try out the 915F as therapy.  Chris had mentioned in a previous thread that I might like either he Rogue Black, or the Blueboard...

    You are not alone...

I struggled for a day thinking that perhaps there was a problem with the web page server and that our beloved discussion page would return once it was fixed.

The next day I dug around and finally found a CANADA region where I could find what was going on locally. Over-all I am not totally impressed with the new presentation. However - as Mitch noted, I find the ability to share with my fellow Canadian Team Titleist members is what matters most. I also agree with Mitch that although we are all golfers, there is a HUGE difference between those that get to play year round and those of us who have to wait out the winter to get out and play. We do have to remember that there are areas out in BC where golf can be played year round so there are regional differences for us just as those who live in northern Michigan will feel different from those in California.

I will eventually get used to the new look. Just don't lose the discussion forums completely !

    Nope, not alone.

For a short time I thought there was a server problem before realizing the migration took place. I'm happy to see we still have our Canadian section for TT, as I was concerned that it disappeared. Having the Canadian section is definitely one of the most important things as well as having a Titleist Canada staffer moderating it!

I'd also agree that the interface seems to have taken a step back, it has slightly utilitarian look to it now. Glad to see it back up and running though... and guess what? We're getting real close to the start of the golf season in some parts of Ontario! Might even be warm enough to hit the range this weekend.

I embrace the opportunity to hear from members of TT from all over the world. Knowledge of what is going on in other parts of the world is healthy. Just one opinion. Chuck, Mt Pleasant, SC

    Hi all,

I completely agree.  It is a very different look and format -- but I do like the additional interaction that comes from a more integrated forum board with our fellow golfers from the South.  I think the sheer numbers of TT members from the US site means that there are more opportunities for discussion or at least more participation.

On a similar note, I do find it interesting that the US TT members are receiving their lanyards now ...is that something that will be forthcoming here in Canada?  The lanyards seem like they are non-geographic in terms of their design (ie: not country specific), so it seems like it would be readily adaptable to Canada.  I understand that TT Canada sent some out a couple of seasons ago, but it would be great to those of us who joined since then to also participate :-)

As far as golf goes...I know that everyone back east has had a pretty strong winter season ...we have been very fortunate this year out here in BC ...the weather has been unseasonably warm and dry.  As such, many of us have been able to play several rounds already!  I have been able to play the new Titleist Pro V1's and loved it as I did with the Pro V1x balls too!

Wishing everyone a quick start to the golf season ... and Master's Week is fast approaching!

I too am having an 'adjustment phase'. At first I thought something was wrong with the site and was disappointed not having the Canadian content pop up right away. After awhile I did find the link to our region and all is well again. The new appearance however looks too sterile and uninviting. I know we'll get used to it over time but it's kind of bland at the moment. Also....I have no link to post photos. Is it the site or something to do with my laptop?

Wendy...  When replying to a message you get the discussion box that opens up. You will see in this pic that the area for inserting an image is in the bottom left corner of the blue heading area...

I do hope this helps a little.

Not alone my friend. I was proud to be a part of our Canadian forum, and I Could visit the others when I wanted. Saw the Canada link and have gone here often and will continue. I must admit having a dedicated titleist.ca was cool, but as a loyalist I will continue to support. After winning the sweepstakes for the "Canadian Open" for Tim Clark signed hat and ball, I only wonder will we lose our Canadian uniqueness? I hope not. But it is refreshing Mitch to hear you guys are still on board! Cheers TT, won't be long now to the snow is gone!! James

    It's not all bad !

As noted by James G, It is great to see we still have Mitch around to help us out.

Also - I do like the added link iat the beginning of each discussion thread that allows you to "Jump to Last Reply". It is a nice touch when one comes back to the same discussion to see what is new. Particularly once it reaches multiple pages.

I think it's good that everyone across the board regarding countries, contributes to the same board, there's more when you think about.  Looks like I lost my Club Champion Banner though during the change over.

No Kevin - you are not alone.  i agree with many of your comments.  I have wrestled with the new navigation and had a surprisingly hard time finding my Canadian compatriots (funny in a way as I used to be quite savvy in the IT world - go figure).  Like you, I will try to work through it.  And I sincerely hope that the rest of Team Titleist Canada finds us soon!
