    Hey All,

    Question 1:

I've been having a lot of trouble with my driver over the years; to the point where I have little confidence in the club.  I know it's not the scoring club; but I find when I'm hitting it well it sets a tone for my game and the rest feeds off it.

I recently went to a retailer to hit a few drivers, specifically the 915, and while I was in the simulator he was of the opinion that most of my problems are from my swing speed not lining up with stock shafts.  His suggestion was getting a driver fitting; which I've never had done before.

I was hoping to get thoughts on the fitting process and where I could go to get one done (I'm not sure if a box store is the best place).

    Question 2:

Kind of in line with the above I started thinking about the irons I purchased last year and if there was value in doing the same.  I play with AP2's and really like them; don't want to change from these clubs.  Can they be tweaked with a fitting and is there value in doing so?

    Thanks!

I will offer my perspective from my fitting experiences...

Firstly - I had a driver fitting at the Titleist National Fitting Center just north of Toronto, and it was a great experience. Chris had me hit a number of shots with my own driver first so that he could see what it was that I was doing. He then had me try a variety of Shafts and lofts on both the D2 and D3 Drivers before we finally settled in on the right shaft/head combination for my swing speed and angle of attack. The ultimate result was a driver that gave me the correct launch angle, ball speed, and spin for MY swing and MY swing speed. I was thrilled with the experience and the end result once I got my new 913 D2 in my hands :)

On your second question - I do believe that a fitting with your existing clubs could be worth while. The fitting could find that your clubs are a tad to long, or to short. Both easy adjustments to existing clubs. Also the fitting could find that you need the lie adjusted up or down to help you catch the ball cleaner and more consistently off the center face.

The location - Titleist National Fitting Center at Eagles Nest Golf Club - Maple, ON

Here is a link to their web page where you can book either by phone or on-line...
