Can't seem to find what the actual Compression of the NXT Tour S yellow ball is rated at, other than "low".  Anyone know what the compression is ?

    Thanks,

I read in one advertisement that the NXT Tour was an 80 compression 3 piece ball. On another advertisement it was noted that the NXT Tour S was a full 10 compression points lower than the three piece ball. So - Based on that I would would say that the compression rating of the 2 piece NXT Tour S is 70.

I must say however that I do not know how old the ads were, as they may not have been referring to the 2014 issue of the Titleist line.

    Hope that helps...

    Hi Dave,
    Great question.
NXT Tour is in the mid 80's and NXT Tour S in in the mid 70's.

One important key to keep in mind is that no single element of golf ball design determines the golf ball’s performance or distance. Titleist Golf Ball R&D designs with multiple construction elements (such as core size, chemistry, hardness, number and type of intermediate layers, cover material and thickness, dimple design, etc.) to achieve specific golf ball performance characteristics.

All of these elements work together to determine a golf ball’s performance. Compression is simply a result of this process and is a test of the relative softness of a golf ball which relates to how firm or soft a golf ball feels to a golfer.

While there is no performance benefit to choosing a specific compression, many golfers (regardless of swing speed) do have feel preferences. Golfers who prefer softer feel may prefer lower compression golf balls.

We hope this helps to answer you question and provide a little insight as well.

    Cheers,
