    hey TT,

I heard that Titleist tips all shafts 1/2" to play true to flex in their SureFit adapter

considering fwy's, some companies want their shafts tipped none to 1" .Is this taken into consideration depending on the type of shaft when purchased?

Reason I ask, is I'm considering an S+ 72 tipped 1" for the driver and and ROGUE Black 80 in the fwy (both 915 D/F models), but unsure how much to tip it. Aldila recommends 1" tipping for their fwys. So is this coming tipped 1 or 1.5" direct from Titleist (w/out the request for additional tipping).

    thanks

Yes, rather confusing when compared to the Aldila site and I wouldn't mind understanding the reasoning so that I can write down my specs before I order 5 clubs in the Titleist 915 Metal Wood line.

I also see that there's a 3" P.T.S. (Parallel Tip Section) to play with.  May have to just go with all 0.5" tip trim so what effect would this have on the fairways and hybrids?

Go to FITTING GUIDE and then to TRIMMING INFO on this link.....

With regards to the tipping of shafts, different vendors can recommend different tipping lengths during the build process.

The S+ is a shaft that we do not tip in the drivers, if you wanted to go tipped 1" I would recommend ordering the club stating "please tip 1."

As for the Rogue Black, there is a slight difference with the amount tipped.  Drivers would be tipped .5" and the 3 wood (which includes 13.5*, 15*, 16.5* lofts) would be tipped a standard 1' where the higher lofted clubs would be tipped 1.5".  If you wish to proceed with a tipping order, I would recommend ordering the club stating "please tip an additional X"

So what would happen if I took the S+ 60 stiff and tipped it 1/2 inch since it isn't tipped at all in the 915

    Hi Ryan!

Thanks for the reply, I've already ordered five 915's.... see attached for my chosen specs.
