Hey fellow TT'ers,
I had the opportunity to play a company tournament over the weekend, and it was a scramble format. Because I normally tend to lose a fair number of balls when playing a scramble (lost in moments where ambition exceeds talent... but you gotta go for it when someone on the team has already put you in great shape), I decided to bench my trusty ProV1x and play a little less expensive ball.
I picked up a dozen NXT Tour, and I have to say, I was massively impressed. It had been a while since I played the NXT Tour. They are long, feel great off the driver (might even be a little straighter than the ProV... or maybe I was just swinging well) and I found plenty of stopping power on the greens. What's not to like about that?
We pay so much attention to the ProV1, and rightly so, it is a great ball... but the NXT Tour deserves a little love too. Just wow.
As it turns out, I only lost one from the dozen (and found a ProV1x in the woods!), and I am looking forward to playing out the rest of this season with the NXT. It is getting to be the time around here where we end up taking a number of "leafies", so losing an NXT Tour will sting just a little less than losing a ProV1x.
Oh yeah... and we won!
