I went to the National fitting centre in Maple Ont. Wow
what a great experience. I met with Chris Welton at the appointed
time and was asked to go warm up. After warming up Chris asked me several
questions and took my own 6 iron to get its particulars. I then proceeded to hit
a few shots with my 6 iron with the Tracman on. Chris then handed me a 6 AP2
to hit. The fitting truly started to take shape with Chris asking questions and changing shafts every few hits. We tried a bunch and I couldn't believe how truly
big a difference the shafts made. After Chris looked at the data and my input it was very clear that KBS Tour stiff was the right shaft for my swing and the AP2 was the right head. Like a hot knife through butter!
We then went to my Driver. Well I will be waiting for the new 915's to come out.
After a few hits Tracman showed that I was hitting down on the ball with my driver.
I need to make a swing change to really get a benefit from a new driver.
Off to the short game area to get a wedge fitting. First I was asked to hit a few short shots from a really tight lie. After seeing just a few shots Chris changed me
out to a different wedge. Wow the right bounce and grind make a huge difference.
We then repeated this in long grass and sand. Chris and I headed back to the Tracman
to hit some full wedges to get the gaps right.
Chris then summarized all the info to me and sent all the data to my email.
Next step was to order all my new custom stuff. After careful consideration, I decided
to order through Luke at Eagles Nest GC. My order was large and had several customizations they gave me the best price and service.
I am now the happy owner of Titleist AP2 irons, Vokey wedges and a new customised tour bag.
Thanks again Chris it was a great experience. Thanks also to Luke for putting the order together. Thanks Titleist team for getting the order right and delivered quickly.
P.S. I would post a few pics if I knew how.
Regards
Andrew
