I play AP2 710 irons, I am happy for the most part, but since I switched to them I have struggled with moving the ball left or right with anything shorter than a 7 iron.  Due to this I am considering the MB 714 irons in PW thru 7, and AP2 714 in the 6 thru 3.  Additionally a new U driving iron I. The 3 iron.  I demo'd it last year and loved the length and control.  Looking for advice and feedback on my thoughts.

P.S. my index is 3.7, 6 iron 92.5 mph, stiff DG300 and I will use the regional Titleist centre for the fitting.

Who am I to offer any advice to someone with a 3.6 index ???

However - you did also ask for feedback so from what I see, I think you have the situation well in hand by planning on using the services of the Regional Fitting Center to help you make the best decision...

My experience with them was very positive and they truly know their product lines and how to fit you for your game.

Thanks, my main concern is if anyone has gone with a mixed set, main questions are:

    1) I always felt the additional weight at the bottom of the AP2's creates a ball flight that is too high, is the MB ball flight similar.

    2) Turf interaction, the 710 AP2's are a bit thick, did this improve on the 714's with the shorter irons.

    3) Length, can I expect the MB to offer me the same distances.

    4) The 710's have u grooves, how much spin am I giving up to go to the 714's

    5) Do the AP2's spin the same as the MB's?

    6) I played muscle backs up till around 1992, since switching I feel there's is less feedback, but also less vibration, I already have Sensicore inserts, will the MB' beat up my hands, wrists, and elbows appreciably more, or are the new MB's better than the old forgings (i.e. Staff Fluid Feels).

lots of questions that have less to do with fitting, it's mostly a need for feedback.

    Real experience is appreciated.
