We moved recently so my golf season was shorter than normal. Now that we are done for the season my clubs have been cleaned and are stored in the basement. No cold garage for my titleist clubs! We don't plan on traveling this winter so they will stay there until the first spring round. The only golf related stuff we do over the snowy months will be the occasional game on the latest TW Playstation game.

My Rules to cope with winter season 

1) wipe tears from my eyes 

2) keep wiping tears from my eyes 

3) stop crying like a baby 

4) kiss clubs everyday and tell them we will get through this 

5) two trips this winter California (san diego) in february and possibly florida right after christmas 

6) practice putting in basement with my birdieball putting green that i won 

7) wipe tears from my eyes

Mike - The tears in the eyes sometimes come from the cold wind... But alas - I think you are actually referring to real tears from the sense of loss now that the season is done.

I did play one winter down at Camisle in February. They actually keep the course open all winter by sweeping the fairways.

two christmas's ago i played burlington spring -7 a some snow on the side ... last christmas i played in puerto rico... No snow... this christmas i have no clue what im going todo... 

Thats awesome Darius it must have been hard to find your ball lol.  Do they do this every year? If they do i will have to give this a try this year.

From what I understand the course is open for winter golf every year. Look on the web for Camisle Golf in Burlington for their winter rates.

I do have to admit that the white ProV's disappear quickly off the fairways. We ended up using our ball markers and painting them like European Easter Eggs so they would stand out. If we had half a brain (which is questionable given we went golfing in February in Ontario) we would have thought in advance and brought orange or yellow balls with us :)

I live in BC... in the beautiful Fraser Valley and we are able to golf pretty well year round.  We do get a bit of wet weather here on the wet coast but I do have Galvin Green Gortex rain gear that allows me to stay relatively dry.  The only time I miss a day or two of golf is when we get the odd snow fall or heavy frost which usually doesn't remain on the fairways and greens for very long.  Last year I played close to 300 rounds of golf. I am a member at one of the longest links style courses in BC and get my moneys worth and more. I walk the course and enjoy the exercise and fresh air golfing with many friends I've made over the last 15 years since my retirement at age 54... played an all Titleist bag for most of those years.  I may not hit it as far as I once did but knowing how far I hit each club along with good course management has allowed me to maintain a 10.2 index and I hope to continue to be able to afford new Titleist equipment to help shoot lower scores.  I presently play a Titleist 913 D3 8.5 driver with a GD Tour AD BB-6sr shaft, 910 Fd, 910 F fairway woods, 910H hybrids, original AP1 irons, Vokey wedges, and a Scotty Cameron Kombi putter  My new AP2 714 irons should be arriving by the end of this week and I look forward to golfing with them very soon.   Really enjoyed playing the original AP1 irons with Titleist VS Proto-T 75S Graphite shafts but as I get older now need a shaft that plays a little weaker.  The new AP2 irons on order have KBS C-Taper R shafts SSx2 and untipped, 2 degrees flat, so I am hoping to get a little more feel back in my iron game... see how that works out.  So Darius you ask "What Now?  Lots of golf... as much as the weather and this old body allows.  Good luck to you and my fellow Team Titleist members in other parts of the country I'm sure you have many other winter sports to enjoy until your golf season begins again but for me I love living in this part of BC and golfing year round.  I'll give you a report on the new AP2 irons once I get a chance to play them in the next week or two.

Wow - 300 rounds per year !  I am truly envious... I manage to complete just over 70 rounds and I thought I was doing well :)

You mentioned that your course is one of the longest links style courses in BC. You have raised my curiosity... What is the name of the course? Is it private, or does it welcome green fee players?

Who knows - My wife and I have often talked about going west for a trip some day. I never travel without my clubs, so your course may be something I should put on my list.

Darius the name of my home course is Royalwood Golf & RV Resort, in Chilliwack BC, it is open to the public. Royalwood has 3 sets of men's tees: White 6080, Blue 6486, and Gold 6934... they have some of the best greens in the valley, I have been a member there for over 15 years.  I was also a member at the Chilliwack Golf Club for a couple of years but gave up my membership there last year but... still own a share.  We have a number of other courses in the beautiful Fraser Valley that are also open year round that I am sure you would enjoy playing.  One of my favourites is the Sandpiper Golf Course but... it is about 45 minutes to an hour from my home where Royalwood is only 11 minutes. Sandpiper is best played in the spring, summer and early fall because it is closer to the mountains and can get a little colder with more chance of seeing some of the white stuff in the winter.  Perhaps we can get a round or 2 of golf together if you get out this way, I would enjoy that.  If you are able to come I'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't bring the snow.  lol  Stay warm, dry, and healthy.

If you send me a note, I can keep your email address on file for when we eventually make the trip. Our dream trip out west would be to fly out to Calgary, rent a car and drive up to Banff to play a round or two up there. Then take the train out to Kamloops to visit a friend for a short while, and following that make our way to Vancouver which would put you right along the way. Likely not until 2015, but I have found that since I retired 3 years ago at 55 the time flies by so very quickly.

Have a couple more rounds to play in the US this year, but now it's time to evaluate my golf bag and make changes for next year, get the new irons into my bag during the off season and evaluate what was wrong wi my driving this year.  Although my driving wasn't the worst it's ever been it is usually a very strong part of my game and this year it was on and off. Also look at my putting, got a putter in my hand this year that I am very confident in but still not making as many putts as I feel I should be. Need to work on some stroke stuff and make sure the ball is rolling properly. 

I live in Toronto... will play until all the courses are closed...played the last 2 days.

Will hit balls outside on the weekends at The Launch (Hwy 407/Jane st).

Florida trips are planned.

I am afraid to play in any conditions.
