  1. I am 18 years old and from Canada.

I have the Titleist 910 F and its 17 degrees with Rip 70/2.7 Stiff shaft in it. I have the setting at A1, but I'm having some difficulties with it. I'm hitting the ball very high and not getting any role what so ever. I am a 5 handicap and I've tried moving the ball further back in my stance and lowering my follow through but that just results in me hooking it.

Any tips, or recommendations on other shafts?

    Thanks

    Good morning Nicholas,

The first question I would ask is your set make up.  What woods do you have in your bag?  Do you have a 3-wood and play this club as a 5 wood??

The easiest thing to recommend without seeing you hit any shots would be to change the setting on the Surefit Tour Hosel.  Try it in either a D1 or a C1 position.  This will remove a little bit of loft on the club, and could help get the launch angle down.

Let me know your bag set-up, and if this little change in the setting helps.

    Good luck,

    Rob

I played the 909F3, 909H 19* and 24*  After way too much time fighting the hook, I put a steel shaft in the Hybrids, the DG SLX100, and it is noticably better.  I tried 3 different shafts in an F3, and an F2, but I was never able to get both feel and hook avoidance.  I am purchasing the new 913 Fairways in both the 3 and 5 wood set ups with the Diamana S+, I understand the new shaft is more tip stiff, without sacrificing feel.

Have you tried a heavier shaft, you may find you can increase the torque a bit with a similiar flex to what your playing and get a better result with more feel and distance.  This worked for me with the 910D3; that and shortening the shaft while opening the face and weakening my right hand a bunch.
